Day Five - 8/24/09 First day of School

Awwww...the first day of school.....Taylor started WTC today and Tanner started Snyder High School....I have two freshmen! It was a little bittersweet for me. Taylor moved in to her own apartment a few weeks ago and so I have already been emotional about that so it was probably a good thing I didn't see her drive off to college! But my little Tanner was there for me to fuss over and annoy this morning! At least I'll have him around for four more years! I've really enjoyed my kids this summer. They are so uniquely themselves....they are what matters the most! I hope that as they continue to get older they will continue to get closer and keep the bond that has formed between them. They both have a great sense of humor and a great love of life! I'm so proud to be their mom and that I've been blessed with the opportunity to watch them grow and become young adults. Have a great year guys! I love you!

Day Four - August 23rd - Aunt Georgette

I'm named after my Aunt Georgette...so today I wanted to tell her
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
She and her husband Bob are missionaries in Guatemala. My mom always use to say that she felt closer to God when Aunt Georgette was around. I can see that about her! I hope you have an amazing day, Aunt Georgette! Love you!

Day Three- True Love

Found this picture on an old email Jason sent me.......ain't he cute? LOL!
I always hoped that I would find true love....ya know......that love you really can believe in and trust. And I'm thankful that I can truly say I found it. Now don't get me wrong....we do get on each other's nerves on occasion! LOL! But in the end......I found my soul mate....that one person who loves me despite myself. He has been an amazing father, friend, husband and I'm so thankful that God brought him in to my life when He did! He gave me Jason when I was at a point in my life to appreciate such a wonderful gift!
I love you Honey!

Day Two (a little late)- My Sister

When we were younger, I couldn't stand Angela. She was the biggest thorn in my side. I had to take her and her friends every where, pick her up from school, have her stand at my door when I was grounded and just all the little sister stuff little sisters do. Now, I don't go a day without talking to her at least 100 times (LOL!) She is one of my best friends in this world! Odd, huh? We use to make fun of my mom and her sisters because of how close they were and all the hugging and "i love yous"......now I understand that they all knew that when you have your sister, you are invincible. Angela is my rock...she is a listener, advisor, cheerleader, critic, and mostly she's my unconditional friend. No matter what I do or mess up, she is right there and never judges me!
In my quest to find what really matters, I found that you don't always have to look very far!

Day One- Happy Birthday

I turned 38 yesterday (19th) and this is the cake that my beautiful Doll made for me! One of my favorite memories about my birthdays was my cake. My mom ALWAYS made our cakes. I don't think I ever had a store bought cake growing up. We had barbie dolls, care bears, anything we wanted, my mom could make it. So, it was special to me that Taylor took time to MAKE my cake for me this year without knowing how special it would be. It made me think of all those really great birthdays when I was younger!
